Will this actually help with UTIs and kidney problems?

The #1 thing vets tell you for UTIs, crystals and kidney disease is: get them drinking more. Cats are built to ignore still water and almost all of them chase cold, running water. CatPure gives them exactly that, fresh from the tap, every single visit. Owners of CKD and urinary cats tell us their cat finally drinks on its own.

How does it work?

A thin tube runs from your faucet (or the valve under your sink) to the CatPure. When your cat comes within 12 inches, the sensor opens a valve and fresh tap water streams out of the spigot into the sink. Your cat walks away, it shuts off. No pump, no tank, nothing sitting still.

When does my presale order ship?

The first production batch ships soon. Presale orders ship first, in order received, at the launch price. You get a tracking number the day it leaves.

Do I ever have to clean it? Is it loud?

No tank means nothing grows. No pump means nothing clogs and nothing hums: just a soft click, then running water. No filter means nothing to buy. Wipe the spigot when you wipe the sink. Adhesive strips hold it to the counter and peel off cleanly.

Can I still use my sink?

Yes. The faucet diverter has a small handle: one way for you, one way for your cat. Prefer to never touch it? Pick the under-sink tee and your faucet stays exactly as it is.

Will it see my black cat?

Yes. The motion sensor detects any colour of cat, black cats included, from 12 inches away.

Isn't water wasted running all day?

No. It only runs when your cat is there, about 45 seconds per visit. You can turn the flow down with the built-in valve, anywhere from a gentle dribble to a strong stream.

Will the click scare my cat?

The valve makes a soft click when it opens. Most cats ignore it from day one. Shy cats can take a week: leave the tap-loving habit in place, let them watch another cat or you trigger it, and they come round.

Will it turn on every time I walk by?

Only things within about 12 inches trigger it, so walking past the sink doesn't. Place it so the sensor faces where your cat stands to drink, not the doorway.

Will it splash water everywhere?

Turn the flow down with the built-in valve and angle the spigot over the basin. The Counter Drip Mat catches the rest, and it's free on Buy 2.

What if my cat won't use it?

Most cats figure it out in a day or two. Shy cats can take a few weeks. If yours never takes to it within 60 days, send it back for a full refund.

How do I know which faucet adapter I need?

After you order, send us a photo of your faucet and a close-up of the aerator. We match the adapter to your exact thread. If the included ones don't fit, we send the right one.

Size, power and water

3.5 inches wide, 9 inches tall with the spigot. Straight tap water, unfiltered, the same water you drink. Batteries and plug both come in the box: 4 AA last 6 to 12 months. The 6V adapter plugs into any US outlet. Use both and the batteries take over in a power cut.

Why it matters

Your cat is probably dehydrated right now

Cats come from desert animals. Their thirst drive is weak, and they ignore water that has been sitting. The bill shows up in their kidneys and bladder.

After the urinary blockage

I bought this for our cat after he got a urinary blockage and scared us to death. He'd always waited for us to turn the faucet on. When we stopped, he wasn't drinking much at all and wound up at the emergency vet. Now he drinks fresh water whenever he wants.

Yay kidneys!

He will only drink from a cold, running tap and every bowl and fountain failed miserably. Within seconds of setting this up, he figured it out. He's drinking more water these days (yay kidneys!) and he stopped waking me up in the middle of the night to turn on the tap.

My CKD cat and I call it a lifesaver

My chronic kidney disease kitty was trying to drink shower water, tub water, even toilet water. She'd knock over bowls immediately. This was the fix.

The problem

Your cat already told you what they want

They sit in the sink and stare at the tap. They ignore the bowl and the $60 fountain. A cat that doesn't drink is a cat heading for crystals, a UTI or failing kidneys.

Water education

The fountain makes the water dirty

Every fountain on the floor pumps the same water around, over and over. Your cat's saliva and food crumbs go in with every sip, and slime grows on the pump within days. That's why fountains need filters. The water you poured in was clean. The fountain fouled it.

Both cats had kidney issues

Two units, one for each floor, and we haven't had to do anything to maintain them in more than a year. Our two cats have excellent kidney health now. Prior to this, both had kidney issues.

She drinks much more now

Every fountain I tried got nasty fast, even with new filters. This has her drinking much more than before. She's had lots of urinary issues, so a fountain that actually gets her to drink is such a good thing.
